Ik ben soms ook nog echt een klein meisje en je kunt me dan ook met hele kleine dingen al zo vrolijk krijgen. Ja, ik weet dat ik over 10 maanden 40 wordt, maar wat kerst betreft heb ik toch echt een soort van Peter Pan syndroom. Mijn hartje begon afgelopen vrijdag dan ook harder te kloppen en ik stond nog net niet te huppelen van blijdschap toen ik in adventskalender heaven terecht was gekomen. Het eerste deel van de Edeka was omgetoverd tot 1 grote adventkalender display en je kan het zo gek niet bedenken of ze hebben het. Van Hello Kitty tot Snoopie en Barbie, gevuld met Kinder chocolade, Milka of Haribo en zelfs aan de volwassene is gedacht, zo scoorde ik vorig jaar al de sexy mannen adventkalendar en dit jaar was er zelfs 1 met shotjes.
En ondanks dat kerst dit jaar iets anders loopt dan normaal, zal het aftellen er zeker niet minder om zijn. Dus ja, na veel wikken en wegen, kocht ik toch maar gewoon een hele simpele met good old Santa erop.
Als klein meisje vond ik dit al helemaal geweldig, elke dag kijken welk vorm chocolaatje er nu weer in zat en geduldig afwachten tot het grootste chocolaatje op 24 december. Dus kocht ik het vorig jaar ook voor m’n neefje en nichtje een kalender, hopend dat ze net zo opgewonden elke dag zouden zijn als ik toen ik hun leeftijd was. Nou…het geduld van hun tante hebben ze niet ge-erfd. M’n broer stuurde een filmpje hoe m’n nichtje de hele voorkant van de kalender er al op dag 1 af had gescheurd (in 1000 stukjes!!!!) en 1 voor 1 de chocolaatjes naar binnen propte en neefjelief hield het ook niet netjes bij 1 per dag. Dus helaas, geen kalender voor ze dit jaar van tante Ellen (ja, ik ben keihard als je de regels niet volgt ;)!!!).
Maar dat advent kalenders niet alleen maar voor kinderen is bleek wel toen ik de DM in liep. Wow…ik heb me moeten inhouden, want € 49,95 voor een Essie Nagellak kalender was toch wel ver boven m’n budget, maar gaaf is het wel. Net als die van Rituals en die van Clinique of Kiehl’s die ik voorbij zag komen op de Bijenkorf site. Blijkbaar ben ik dus niet de enige met een guilty pleasure en heeft de commercie het ook al opgepakt.
Ik hou het voorlopige toch maar op de old fashion chocolaatjes (en okay, de advent thee!)….maar mocht iemand nog wat in m’n schoentje willen gooien…die van Essie of Rituals is ook heel erg welkom ;)!!!

I can be such a little girl sometimes and that means you can make me happy with some of the smallest things. And yes, i realize i’ll be 40 in 10 months, but when it comes to Christmas i really have a sort of Peter Pan syndrome. So my heart skipped a beat last friday and i had to contain myself not to jump up and down from joy when i found myself in adventcalendar heaven. The first part of Edeka was transformed as one big advent calendar display and they had so many different ones. From Hello Kitty, to .. and even some naughty ones for adults, last year i scored the one with sexy men on it and this year they even had one with shots in it.
And eventhough Christmas will be a little different this year than normally, the count down won’t be any less exciting. So yes, after lots of doubting, i finally bought the one with good old Santa on it.
When i was a little girl i developed my love for advent calendars, to find out each day the shape of the chocolate and patiently waiting for the big chocolate on December 24. So last year i bought one for my niece and nephew hoping they would be just as excited each day as i was when i was their age. Well…they did not inherent their aunts patience. My brother sent me a clip of how my niece riped the entire front of the calendar on day i (in 1000 pieces!!!) and was shoving down the chocolates in her mouth one by one and my dearest little nephew couldn’t stop at one a day either. So too bad, but this year they are not getting one from auntie Ellen (yep, i can be so tough when you don’t follow the rules ;)!!!).
But nowadays advent calendars aren’t just for kids anymore as i found out walking into the DM. Wow…i had to restrain myself, as € 49,95 for an Essie nailpolish calendar was far above my budget, but it’s so, so cool. Just like the ones i saw on the site of the Bijenkorf (dutch departmentstore) of Rituals or those of Clinique or Kiehl’s. Appearantly i’m not the only one with a guilty pleasure and commerce has picked up on it.
For now, i’m sticking with the old fashion chocolate one (and okay, the advent tea!)….but when someone wants to surprise me with something in my stocking…i wouldn’t mind finding the Essie or Rituals one in there ;)!!!
