Onze koningin komt natuurlijk uit deze geweldige stad, waar ze mooi kon oefenen tijdens haar jeugd voor het vinden van een prins. Want ja, er zijn hier genoeg plekjes waar je je als een koning of koningin kan voelen, zonder het dure prijskaartje of alle paparazzi.
Palacio Paz
Net ontdekt en nu al 1 van mijn favoriete plekjes om me even als een prinsesje te voelen. Of okay, gewoon te gaan lunchen in een prachtige eetzaal waar menig Queen jaloers op zou zijn. En dan heb ik het niet eens gehad over het terras met uitzicht op dit prachtige gebouw. En als je bang bent dat een lunch hier een rib uit je lijf gaat kosten, no worries, het fijne Croque Madame runt hier de keuken en ja, dat betekent ook dat je gewoon een tosti kan scoren. Na je lunch kun je nog eventjes rondlopen door wat andere ruimtes van dit paleisje. Wil je een volledige rondleiding, dit kan op bepaalde dagen (check de website voor meer informatie) of reserveer een plekje in de balzaal voor een tangoshow op deze mooie plek!
El Rosedal
De roos van Belle verbleekt bij de 18,000 rozen en 93 verschillende soorten die hier in bloei staan. De rozentuin geeft Marie Antoinette/Versailles vibes en op een zomerse dag geurt alles heerlijk! De prieeltjes en doorkijkjes maken de tuin zo romantisch. Trek je mooiste jurk aan voor een prachtige fotoshoot tussen alle rozen. Maak een boottochtje (okay, je moet zelf trappelen) over de vijver rondom de tuin. Of werp je prins kusjes toe vanaf het mooiste bruggetje in Buenos Aires ;)!
Gratis entree en dinsdag tot en met zondag geopend van 10.00 tot 18.00 uur.
La Ideal
Je pinkje gaat hier vanzelf omhoog bij het zien van alle pracht en praal van confitería La Ideal. Niet ver van de hussling & buzzling van 9 de Julio, waan je hier in een hele andere tijd. Het glas in lood plafond alleen al is de moeite waard om even een kopje thee hier te doen. Maar sla ook zeker niet een gebakje over die er uitzien als kleine kunstwerkjes. Of geniet samen met je vriendinnen van een heerlijke uitgebreide High Tea.
Palacio Barolo
Laat je haar los in Palacio Barolo want de balkonnetjes geven je dat “Rapunzel-een prins komt me redden”-gevoel. Sowieso is dit gebouw een sprookje want het is gebaseerd op Dante’s Divine Comedy en zo krijg je geluk als je beneden over de kop van de vogel wrijft (gaat de legende) en op 9 juli, Argentijnse Independence day staat het zonnestelsel boven op het vuurtorentje gelijk met de Southern Cross. De vuurtoren schijnt elke avond om 20.00 uur zijn licht en het uitzicht over de stad is adembenemend, je kan helemaal tot aan de rivier kijken.
De entree met gids is niet goedkoop. Wel kun je ervoor kiezen alleen een drankje te doen in de bar (alleen met reservering) en tijdens Golden hour heb je een prachtig uitzicht. Reserveer hiervoor tijdsvak 19.00 tot 21.00 uur.
Museo el Decorativo
Een balzaal die lijkt op de spiegelzaal van Versailles, een tafel in een ruimte waar je ridders elk moment verwacht binnen te zien komen, slaapkamers waar doornroosje jaloers op zou zijn, oh en dan ook nog een prachtige tuin. Museo El Decorativo heeft het allemaal en dan te bedenken dat dit dus helemaal niet gebouwd is voor een koning of koningin maar de high society van Buenos Aires. Nu dus gratis te bezoeken voor de “plebs”. Zin om erna nog even lekker een bubbeltje te doen of heel royaal een crème brûlée naar binnen te werken? Geen probleem, tegenover de ingang van het museum zit Croque Madame (ja alweer, ze zitten echt op de leukste plekjes in BA) en bij slechter weer is deze locatie ook erg leuk om binnen te zitten!
Zin om je s’avonds rond te laten rijden als een prins of prinses, boek dan onze Besos en la Noche tour met bubbels en chocolade waar we langs alle hightlights rijden die ‘s avonds mooi verlicht zijn. Palacio Paz
Just discovered and already one of my favorite places to feel like a princess. Or okay, just to have lunch in a gorgeous dining room which would make many queens jealous. And I haven’t even mentioned the terrace with a view of this beautiful building. If you are scared that lunch is going to cost you an arm & a leg, no worries, the always nice Croque Madame runs the kitchen here and yes, that means you can also order just a grilled cheese. After your lunch you can wander around some other rooms of this palace. If you want a whole tour, this is possible during certain days (check the website for more information) or reserve a spot in the ballroom for a Tango show at this gorgeous place!
El Rosedal
The rose of Belle will bleach at the sight of 18,000 roses and 93 different kinds that are in bloom here. The rose garden gives Marie Antoinette/Versailles vibes and on a summers day it smells so good here! The gazebos and vistas make this garden so romantic. Put on your most beautiful dress for a lovely photoshoot amongst the roses. Make a boat ride (okay you do have to peddle yourself) around the pond surrounding the garden. Or blow kisses to your prince from the most gorgeous little bridge in Buenos Aires! 😉

La Ideal
Your pinky will rise by itself after seeing all the beauty confitería La Ideal. Not far from the hussling & buzzling of 9 de Julio, you will feel like you stepped into another era. The stained glass. ceiling alone is worth having a cup of tea here. But don’t forget to have a little cake aswell that look like little pieces of art. Or enjoy a delicious High Tea with your girls.
Palacio Barolo
Let your hair down at Palacio Barolo as their little balconies give you that “Rapunzel-a prince is going to save me”-feeling. This building is a fairytale by itself as it’s based on Dante’s Divine Comedy and you get luck if you rub the head of the bird downstairs (legend says) and on July 9th, the Argentine Independence day the stars on top of the lighthouse align with the Southern Cross. The lighthouse shines every night at 20.00 and the view over the city is breathtaking, you can look all the way to the river.
The entrance with a guide is not cheap. But you can choose just to do a drink at the bar (reservations only) and during Golden hour you will have an amazing view. Reserve the time period of 19.00 to 21.00 hours for this.
Museo el Decorativo
A ballroom that looks like the mirror hal of Versailles, a table in a room where you expect knights to walk in in any minute, bedrooms that would make the sleeping beauty jealous and oh, it also has a gorgeous garden. Museo El Decorativo has it all and than to think this wasn’t build for a king or a queen but for the high society of Buenos Aires. Now free to visit for the “plebs”. Feel like ending your visit with some bubbles or with a very royal crème brûlée? No problem, across the entrance of the museum is Croque Madame located (yes again, they really are at every good spot in BA) and by bad weather this location is also very nice indoors!
