Caramel Apples

6 kleine appels
1 zak Werther’s original Soft Caramel
klein scheutje room of (plantaardige) melk

English version:

Honestly, this was on my To Do and To Eat list for years. That it could be so easy, i never had thought of before. Was it everything i hoped for…well, in theory it’s just an apple with a thin layer of caramel, but that combination is pretty tasty. But you could also slice up an apple and serve it with caramel sauce, to make things even easier…but that doesn’t look as Instagramable ;)!

Ingredients:
6 small apples
1 bag Werther’s original Soft Caramel
small pour of cream or (plantbased) milk klein scheutje room
Sprinkles, as decorations (i use sprinkles of Xenos) or chopped nuts

Directions:
Wash the apples and stick a stick in each apple. But the apples in the fridge till needed. The cold will make the caramel less fluid. Heat a bag of Werther’s soft caramels with a little cream or plantbased milk
au bain marie. Keep stirring till it turns into a creamy caramel sauces. Put out a plate with non greased baking paper. Put the apples in the caramel sauce, make sure to cover the whole apple. Put on the plate with the nongreased baking paper and decorate with sprinkles or nuts (optional). Put back in the fridge for about an hour so the caramel can set a little more. And yes, it stays a little sticky because of the use of soft caramels, but that’s where the sticks are helpfull 😉
