Ik ben altijd eerlijk hierover, ik geloof dat als je gezond leeft je geen supplementen nodig hebt en al je benodigde voedingsstoffen uit je eten kunt krijgen. Maar we hebben allemaal wel momenten dat het even niet lukt om gezond te eten en dan is wat extra aanvulling altijd fijn. Vooral als de producten biologisch en vegan zijn en verschillende ingrediënten bevat die allemaal goed voor je zijn.
In het begin van februari was het wereldkankerdag en deelde ik een oude blog waarin ik vertelde wat kanker vooral mentaal met je doet. Maar ook lichamelijk laat het z’n sporen achter. Zo heb ik meerdere klachten maar de ernstigste is toch wel botontkalking. Naast dat liet ik 1,5 jaar geleden een MRI maken en bleek dat de bestralingen scheurtjes in mijn heup hebben veroorzaakt. Nu lijk ik soms net een oma met mijn middagdutjes en theetjes op de bank met een dekentje maar een nieuwe heup vind ik mezelf toch echt te jong voor! Dus was ik aan het nadenken over het nemen van een collageen supplement, maar om gelijk het hardcore spul te bestellen vond ik best ver gaan. En toen kreeg ik een berichtje van Stepstones-Health of ik wat supplementen van hun wou proberen, waaronder Plant Collagen, die je natuurlijke collageen beschermt. Dat leek mij perfect! En ondanks dat ik volgens mijn Plastisch Chirurg een hele elastische huid hebt vind ik het fijn dat dit ook verbetert wordt, evenals de structuur van je huid. Daarnaast ontving ik ook nog Moon Balance, voor het in balans brengen van je hormonen en Forever Beautiful (wie wilt dat nou niet!) voor een gezonde, stralende huid, haar en nagels. En aangezien die laatste ook steeds sneller breken was ik blij dat ik ook deze mocht uitproberen.
Afgelopen maand heb ik alle drie uitgeprobeerd en de Plant Collagen dagelijks. Het fijne van de producten is dat het door veel dingen heen kan. In je smoothie, yoghurt/kwark, havermout, pannenkoeken/wafelbeslag en dat je ze in combinatie kan gebruiken.
De Plant Collagen bevat rijstzemelen, erwt proteïne, lucuma, tremella, aloë vera en vanille. En vooral dat laatste maakt de het eerlijk ruikt en heel fijn is om door je koffie te mengen of in een nicecreamshake of smoothie.
De Moon Balance bevat Baobab, Maca, Hibiscus, Amla bessen, Shatavari en rode biet. Qua reuk komt de Maca sterk naar voren, maar qua smaak (en kleur) overheerst de rode biet, waardoor het een soort van aardse smaak krijgt. Het zou de hormonen op natuurlijke wijze in balans brengen, maar dat is voor mij uiteraard moeilijk te meten, gezien deze op een hele onnatuurlijk manier zijn uitgeschakeld ;)! Maar het verbetert ook je humeur en slaap en helpt met het controleren van je gewicht. Reden genoeg om deze regelmatig door je smoothie te gooien, lijkt mij. Of door je pannenkoekenbeslag!
En als laatste de Forever Beautiful die Chia seeds, Acai, Maqui, Acerola, Maca en Blueberries bevat en daardoor vol zit met anti-oxidanten en vitamines. En helpt je een gezonde, stralende huid en haar te geven en sterkere nagels. De geur is een beetje naar bessen! En eerlijk is eerlijk, ik heb wel het gevoel dat mijn nagels langzaam weer wat sterker worden. Daarnaast is het zeker geen straf om deze in je smoothie of kwark te gooien, dus dat gaan we ook zeker wat meer doen aankomende tijd!
De Plant Collagen heb ik dagelijks gebruikt de afgelopen maand maar het is natuurlijk heel moeilijk om te meten of mijn collageen daadwerkelijk meer beschermt is, qua huid heb ik geluk dat deze redelijk goed is over het algemeen. En of ik sterkere spieren, gewrichten of botten heb gekregen erdoor is ook moeilijk te zeggen. Maar ik voelde mij wel goed bij het nemen van deze Superfood mix en ik ben van mening dat de uitspraak: Baat het niet, dan schaadt het niet, hier ook zeker van op toepassing is. En dit geldt ook zeker voor de andere twee mixen. Daarnaast vind ik het wel een hele fijne ondersteuning op momenten dat ik wat minder goed ga qua voeding of mijn weerstand wat minder is. En natuurlijk zijn het perfecte mixen voor mijn Glow Up dit jaar, want wat hulp van binnenuit is altijd fijn!

I have always been honest about this, i believe that if you live a healthy life you don’t need supplements and you can get all the needed nutrition out of food. But we all have moments that we can’t eat as healthy and for those moments getting some extra help might be good. Especially if the products are organic and vegan and contain different ingredients that are all good for you.
In the beginning of February it was World Cancer day and i shared an old blog in which i share what cancer does to you mentally. But also physical it leaves it marks. I have several physical issues but the worst might be osteoporosis. And besides that, i did an MRI 1,5 year ago and found out that the radiation have made some tears in my hip. Now i realize i look like a granny sometimes with afternoon naps and tea on the couch with a blanket, but i do feel too young for a hip replacement! So i was thinking about taking collagen supplements, but to order the hardcore stuff straight way felt a little wrong. And than i got a message of Stepstones-Health if i wanted to try some supplements, among others Plant Collagen, which protects your natural collagen. This sounded perfect! And eventhough i have a very elastic skin according to my Plastic Surgeon, i do like it also helps with this, just like the structure of the skin. I also got the Moon Balance, for bringing balance to your hormons and Forever Beautiful (who doesn’t want that!) for a healthy glowy skin, hair and nails. And as the last ones seem to break easily lately, i’m happy to give this a try aswell.
Last month is tried all three and the Plant Collagen daily. What i love about the products is that you can mix it through a lot of food. Like smoothies, yoghurt/quark, oatmeal, pancake/waffles batter. And that you can use them in combination.
The Plant Collagen contains rice bran, pea protein, lucuma, tremella, aloë vera and vanilla. And especially that last ingredient makes it smell so good and very nice to mix it in your coffee or a nicecreamshake or smoothie.
The Moon Balance contains Baobab, Maca, Hibiscus, Amla berries, Shatavari and red beet. The Maca comes accross really well in the smeel but the taste (and color) is overruled by the red beet, which gives it an earthy flavour. It should bring your hormones in balance in a naturel way, which is for me a bit hard to measure, as those have been shut down in the most unnaturel way ;)! But it also makes you happier and makes you sleep better and helps to control your weight. Reasons enough to throw it in your smoothie on a regular bases, i think. Or mix it into your pancake batter!
And last but not least, the Forever Beautiful which contains Chia seeds, Acai, Maqui, Acerola, Maca and Blueberries and therefore is full of antioxidants and vitamines. And helps give you a healthy, glowy skin and hair and stronger nails. It smells a little like berries! And honestly, i do get a feeling that my nails are slowly getting stronger again. And it’s definetly not a punishment to add it to my smoothies or quark, so i will definetly do that more this month!
The last month i used the Plant Collagen daily but it is ofcourse very hard to measure if it really protected my natural collagen, and when it comes to my skin i’m pretty blessed with good structure in general. And if my muscles, joints and bones got stronger is also hard to say. But i did feel good using this Superfood mix and i’m really sure that the Dutch saying: if it doesn’t help, it also doesn’t do any damage, applies to this. And this definetly counts for the other two mixes aswell. Plus i love that it is a nice support on moments i’m not eating well or that it helps with building my health. And ofcourse these 3 are the perfect mix for my Glow Up this year, as a little help from the inside is always a good thing!
